UBC Learning Exchange

The Learning Exchange has been a UBC presence in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) since 1999, supporting local residents, students, and faculty to engage with and learn from each other. It’s a welcoming place that’s both part of UBC and part of the community.

• Local Residents participate in free programs, improving their lives through learning and leadership.

• Students get involved alongside local residents in powerful real-life learning experiences that are tailored to their educational goals, level of study and level of community experience

• Faculty partner with the Learning Exchange to create a range of community-learning experiences for their students. The Learning Exchange can also support community-based participatory research, knowledge exchange and knowledge translation.
